The Net-Iden Phone Verification Service automatically dials your web customer’s telephone number at the same time they are performing a transaction on your website. They interact in real time, ensuring that the person who is visiting your website is the same person who answers the phone to confirm any of the following actions: a sign up process, a login process, a change of password, or an e-commerce transaction.

Merchants often include a phone call when completing a transaction. It leaves the customer with the impression that the merchant cares enough to give them individual attention, while giving the merchant a chance to evaluate the legitimacy of the customer.

John Doe is performing a purchase on your website with his credit card.
John places the verification call through one of our competitors.
As a result, John obtains a PIN number that he should enter on your website.
You assume your customer (John) is verified, just because he received the verification call.

How valid is this type of verification?

The method above (again, the same used by ALL of our competitors) does not provide you with  any kind of pertinent information to help you to reduce fraud.  Such a method of verification does not give enough information for you to decide whether or not you wish to complete this transaction.

John Doe is performing a purchase on your website with his credit card.

John places the verification call, which is performed by Net-Iden. He enters the PIN number using the phone keypad, or the PIN number is provided to John so he can type it in your website.

Net-Iden will provide with the information detailed below, which will allow you to evaluate the level of risk you have for this transaction. The information you receive includes the geographic information about John's location in the world (country, state, city, latitude and longitude), along with the following.

The Internet Provider he is using to access your website.
The type of credit card is he using.
The location at which such credit card is registered (country).
The name and location of the credit card issuing bank.
The level of credit card he is using (gold, platinum, etc).
The contact information of the credit card issuing bank.
The country in which his phone is registered.
The country level of risk for electronic transactions (low, moderate, high).
The Card-IP-Phone match. John may be using a cell phone with a US number, while he is actually located in Pakistan, and using a credit card issued in the United Kingdom. This will put a red flag in the verification process, but you are always the one who decides whether to process John's transaction or not.

At the same time, the entire process is simple and transparent for the final user:

1. The user enters his/her telephone number in your website, or selects the telephone number that is already stored in your database.
   
2. The user requests the call by clicking a button on your website. Your website communicates with the Net-Iden servers.
   
3. The Net-Iden automated system places the call.
   
4. Net-Iden provides, or requests, a PIN number (depending on the website’s owner selection). If the PIN is provided during the phone call, the user must enter such PIN in your website. Now, if you choose to provide the PIN number through your website, then the user must enter the PIN number on the phone keypad.
   
5. The user's telephone number is verified. The verification is passed to your website.
   
6. You take the action you decide depending on the validation results provided by the Net-Iden servers.
