GENERAL FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


What are the benefits of using Net-Iden solutions?
Prevention of the loss of revenue caused by the electronic delivery of important information to.

How do the Net-Iden services work?
All services work by integrating your website or stand alone application through SOAP/API and XML.


Can I evaluate your products before purchasing them?
Yes. Sign up for a new account and we will credit your account with two dollars that you can use in all three services (Phone Verification, IP Intelligence or Banking Intelligence).


Do trial users receive technical support?
Yes, our support team will be glad to help you implement the Net-Iden solutions!


Can I create a new trial account after my original trial account expired?
No. Since you need to verify your account, once the two dollar credit is used, you will not be able to create a new trial account for the same website.

When I prepay my account, which service can I use?
You can use all services until your account balance is zero. 


Do you have a resellers program?
Not yet. We are currently in the process of implementing a partner's program in which all you will need is a domain name.  At that time, we will provide you with the entire content for the website, including signup and billing.


Do you have an affiliate developer program?
Yes. All developers who learn how to integrate the Net-Iden services are welcome to join our integrators family. While the amount you charge your customers is 100% yours, we also provide you with an integrator ID code that will allow you to earn one cent per call every time any of your customers places a verification call.

The developer affiliate program only applies to the Phone Verification Service. 




PHONE VERIFICATION F.A.Q.


Which countries does Net-Iden phone verification cover?
All countries, including satellite lines like Iridium.


Do I have a monthly charge for the service?
No, you pay as you go. However, you must first place funds into your account.  Then, each time you use the system, the appropriate charge will be deducted from your balance.  You will be reminded when your balance approaches zero so that you can recharge your account and not interrupt the use of the service.


Do credits expire?
No, credits never expire.


How do I recharge my account?
By using our payment processing service (Verisign) or through Paypal at the Net-Iden control panel.


How long does it take to integrate the Net-Iden Phone Verification Solution into my website?
It usually takes about 20 minutes. For users who are not familiar with SOAP - API, please contact our integrator partner at www.AcromLabs.com.


What happens if my customer does not answer the call?
In this case, the Net-Iden API will return an error code because your user could not be verified. The right action on your side would be to stop the user from continuing the process he/she was performing before the verification (signup, checkout, etc). For a complete list of Net-Iden API status codes, please go to the developer’s area.


What information do I receive after the verification process is complete?
-The status of the verification.
-The geographic location of your customer (country, state, city, latitude and longitude).
-The Internet provider the user utilized to access your website.
-The country in which his/her phone is registered.
-The phone number.
-The country risk level for electronic transactions (low, moderate, high).
-Card-IP-Phone match analysis.
-The credit/debit card issuing bank.
-The card type (debit or credit).
-The card level (gold/premium/platinum, etc.).
-The country in which the card was issued.
-The phone number of the financial institution that issued the card.


Is it possible to play the verification message in other languages apart from English?
Yes, verification messages can be played in Spanish, Russian, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese, Mandarin Chinese, Italian and Arabic.


What is the Call Type feature, and how do I differentiate them?
It is the type of call you can place through the Net-Iden Phone Verification Service:

 

1. The user receives a phone call, in which we indicate the PIN number he/she should enter on your website in order to validate his/her phone number. In this case, the message played will be “Hello. Thank you for using our phone verification system. Your PIN number is XXXX. Once again, your PIN number is XXXX. Goodbye”.

2. The user receives a phone call requesting him/her to enter the PIN number that he/she was provided through your website. The message played will be “Hello. Thank you for using our phone verification system. Please enter the PIN number shown on your screen, followed by the pound key”. <PIN ENTERED> “Thank you for confirmation. Goodbye”.

3. This option is used to validate a change of password. When your user attempts to change his/her password on your website, Net-Iden will use the number registered in your database to call the user and play the following message: “Hello. Thank you for using our phone verification system. To change your password, press pound now”.
Once the user presses the pound key on his/her phone, Net-Iden will validate this action and the password change will be effective on your website.

4.This option is used to validate a login process. When your user attempts to login to your website, Net-Iden will use the number registered in your database to call the user and play the following message: "Hello. Thank you for using our phone verification system. To access your account, press pound now”. Once the user presses the pound key on his/her telephone, Net-Iden will validate this action and the login to your website will be effective.


How much fraud does Phone Verification systems reduce?
Phone verification customers have reported that fraud is reduced by at least 90%.

Do you have a seal or logo that I can put on my website to help discourage scammers?
Yes, we have different logos for registered customers that you can put on your website. When our seals are clicked, they display a window with your company's information and the explanation of Net-Iden fraud prevention and verification solutions.

Where are the Net-Iden servers located?
They are located in Tampa (Florida) and in San Diego (California).

Can I verify users with telephone numbers outside the US and Canada?
Yes, Net-Iden works worldwide.

Can I limit the number of times that a user can request a phone call?
Yes.

Do you have a dual-factor authentication for users with more than one phone number?
Yes, and it is not dual. It supports an unlimited amount of phone numbers.

What comes with the Phone Verification Service?
Together with the Phone Verification Service, you get the IP Intelligence and the Banking Intelligence solutions at no cost.




BANKING INTELLIGENCE F.A.Q.


What is the Banking Intelligence Service?
The Net-Iden Banking Intelligence solution is a Web Service that allows you to obtain information on your users' credit cards before processing any e-Commerce transaction. This allows you to forgo performing a query to your e-Commerce processor, which usually ends up in a charge to your account even if you do not complete a sale.

How much does this service cost?
It costs two cents per query.

Should I pay for both the Banking Intelligence and the IP Intelligence services to have a better fraud prevention tool?
No. The IP Intelligence solution is free for Banking Intelligence customers.

Where do you get the information contained in your database?
Through one of the most reliable sources for financial information.  They gather about 70% of the information through merchants that process credit cards online. The remainder of the information is provided by banks and financial institutions.

What types of credit cards does your database support?
At this time, we support Visa, MasterCard and American Express. Supported subtypes: PREPAID (incl. Can I purchase your financial database for my personal or business use?
No.

Is your BIN database legal?
Yes, the information contained in our database is totally legal, even though it is generally not available to the public. The information contained in our database is not enough to be used for purposes of identity theft or credit card fraud. However, it can be used for analytical purposes when it is combined with the IP Intelligence and the Phone Verification services.

What information do I get after a Banking Intelligence analysis?
-The credit/debit card issuing bank
-The card type (debit or credit)
-The card level (gold/premium/platinum, etc)
-The country in which the card was issued
-The phone number of the financial institution that issued the card

IP INTELLIGENCE F.A.Q.


What is the Net-Iden IP Intelligence Solution?
The Net-Iden IP Intelligence solution is a Web Service that allows you to obtain geographic information about your visitor's location, such as country, state or province, city, latitude, and longitude.  Information about the visitor's Internet Service Provider (like AOL, Cox, etc) is also available.

What are the Net-Iden IP Intelligence input parameters?
Just the IP address of your visitor.

Do you provide examples of how to get the IP address from my website, and how to implement the IP Intelligence solution?
Yes, in our developers area.

In my website, can I perform different actions depending on the geographic area where my customers are located?
Yes.  If, for example, you have offices in both the US and the UK, you can redirect your customers, depending on their geographical location, to different areas on your site.
